Roger L. Wiebold, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Lukes Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in rural Homestead, with the Rev. Zachary Voss officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until service time at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Homestead. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roger is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana; two daughters, Jessica (Mark) Heiser of Midlothian, Va., and Loralie Wiebold (Greg) of Middleton, Wis.; three grandchildren; and brothers, Stanley (Georgia) Wiebold, of Amana and Wayne (Terri) Wiebold of Coralville.
Roger was born on Sept. 30, 1940, at home in West Amana, Iowa, son of Herman and Bertha Wiebold. He graduated from Amana High School in 1958, and then served in the U.S. Army between 1959-1962 as a tank mechanic. Upon return from service, he met Diana Goldammer and in May 1967 they married. In 1976 they moved to Walford, Iowa where they made their home and raised their daughters. Most of his life he worked as a tool and die maker for Amana Refrigeration until he retired in 2002.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Living Center West and St. Luke's Hospice for their kind care of Roger in his final weeks.
