Roger Dennis Wickham, 89, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. A burial with military rites will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Roger was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harry and Mildred (Roser) Wickham. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1951 until 1954. Roger was united in marriage to Janet Wickham on Sept. 21, 1956, in Marion, Iowa. He worked for Cedar Valley Asphalt until he retired. After his retirement, Roger was employed at Marion Mixers for 17 years. He loved cooking, especially candy for family and friends. Roger will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his spouse of 67 years, Janet Wickham; four children, Roger J. Wickham, Tracy L. (Emily) Wickham, Kimberly K. Wickham, and Brian L. Wickham; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Kuddes; his special dog, Sammy; and many loving extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Erla Ankney, Eugene Wickham, Ed Wickham, Edna Brown, and Janet Powers.
