Roger William Cozine, 71, of Iowa City, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roger's favorite charities, Salvation Army, Iowa City Hospice or Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center.
Mr. Cozine was born June 26, 1945, in Iowa City, the son of Ralph Charles and Lorena (Rogers) Cozine. Roger married Mary Ann Shaffer in 1975. He worked as a mechanic at various places in Iowa City. In retirement, he enjoyed keeping busy working in the yard and around the house and helping others. Roger also enjoyed traveling with Mary Ann in their RV and on cruises and sitting in his recliner with cats on his lap.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; two daughters, Dawn (Craig) Foote and Susan (Nate) Kula; four grandchildren, Emily, Jackson and Ryan Foote and Dylan Morning; brother, Richard (Charlotte); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.
