Roemig, Mary Lou
Mary Lou Roemig, 69, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at Colonial Manor of Amana. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at New Apostolic Church, 2930 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Larry Dollmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the West Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert; a sister, Sandra Ludovissy and husband Curt of West Amana; and a nephew, Jason Ludovissy and wife Jewel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Lou Ehrmann was born Aug. 17, 1941, in West Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred Otto Ehrmann and Elsie Lina (Mittelbach) Ehrmann. She graduated from the Amana High School in 1959 and attended Paris Academy of Beauty Culture in Cedar Rapids, receiving her beautician license. She was employed over the years at the Amana Woolen Mill and Amana Refrigeration. She also worked as a beautician. Mary Lou married Gilbert Roemig on May 30, 1981, at the New Apostolic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple resided in Middle Amana. She enjoyed gardening in her free time, especially her flower garden.
Memorials may be contributed to the Essence of Life Hospice or Colonial Manor of Amana.
