Rodney Allen Hulbert, 68, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Arlington, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice in Cedar Rapids. Burial is in Taylorsville Cemetery in rural Arlington, Iowa.
He is survived by his sister, Paula Thomas; and niece, Raven Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Hulbert and LaVerle (Bigelow) Hulbert.
Rodney Allen Hulbert was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Oelwein, Iowa, to Doyle Ivan and LaVerle Ione (Bigelow) Hulbert. He graduated from Starmont High School in 1967. He attended Iowa State University before returning to Arlington to work for his father at Hulbert's Plumbing and Heating. He later graduated from Kirkwood Community College and began working at Rockwell Collins as an electrical engineering technician.
