Kalona
Rodney Dale Bender, 44, of Portland, Ore., formerly of Kalona, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015,
in Portland.
He is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Joyce Bender of Kalona; two sisters, Heidi (Andrew) Willems of Kalona and Heather Bender of Iowa City; a nephew, Simon; a niece, Eden; and Kellen Smith of Portland.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Kalona Mennonite Church. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Growing Gardens in Portland.
