Rodney A. Fox, 69, of Ainsworth, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. His body has been cremated, and the family will greet friends from 1:30
– 3:30 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorial donations can be directed to Paws and More in Washington, an organization that was very important to Rodney.
Rodney Allan Fox was born March 2, 1956, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Jean (Havel) Fox of rural Ainsworth. He was christened May 6, 1956, at Trinity Methodist Church in Riverside, where he was a lifelong member.
Rodney attended Prairie Flower Special Education School, Washington Junior High School and graduated from Washington High School in 1974. Although born with severe blindness, Rodney participated in industrial arts and 4-H.
After graduation, he received vocational training from Goodwill Industries, leading to his 22-year working career with the University of Iowa Hospital.
He loved playing with his dogs, listening to the radio and helping his parents on the farm and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two siblings: Peggy (Arlo) Miller of Ainsworth, Daniel (Karla) Fox of Crystal Lake, IL; seven nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and
nephews; and several cousins.
Preceding Rodney in death were his parents and one brother, Roger Fox.
