Rodman, Christine Marie Kimm
Christine Marie Kimm Rodman, 40, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in her Mount Vernon home from a long illness. A Celebration of Life open house will be Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon.
Surviving Christine are her husband, Chris, four children, Carter, Quinn “Quinnie,” Emma and Skyler; parents, Larry (Patty) Kimm, Athens, Ala., and Sara Harrison and Joe Goergen, Marion; sister, Laura (Jamos) Cairns, Blairstown; grandmother, Martha “Bubby” Kimm, Marengo; and mother-in-law, Alleen Rodman, Mount Vernon.
Preceding Christine in death were her father-in-law, Donald Rodman; grandfather, Dean Kimm; and grandparents, Gerald and Vivian Harrison.
Christine was born Aug. 9, 1970, in Marengo, Iowa, and graduated from Kennedy High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1988, and from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate of Arts degree.
Christine was a very loving mother; her children were her life. She was a treasured wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a very calm and devoted mother. “Her children are everything to her.”
