RODERICK EARL MASON

Roderick Earl Mason, age 60, passed away Sunday, April 1 at St. Luke's Hospital from complications of pneumonia.
Born in Forest City, Iowa, on May 11, 1957, Rod grew up in Cedar Rapids and went to Kenwood, Franklin and Washington schools but graduated at Waverly-Shell Rock. He married Suzanne Bartusch of Janesville, Iowa, on Feb. 14, 1976. He moved back to Cedar Rapids where he spent the remainder of his time, and worked at Carlson Systems, Koyo Corp. and Galt Sand.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Mason; brother, Greg; parents, Earl and Helen; grandson, Blaze Mason; and his dog, King, which he took with him everywhere he went. He loved going boating with Rod.
Rod always made time to help his friends or give them a place to stay. The body will be cremated. A celebration of life event will be scheduled at a later date.
