Rochelle Stasi
ROCHELLE MARIE (DODEN) STASI
Monticello
In a blink of an eye, Rochelle Marie (Doden) Stasi, 57, was called home on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
For those who knew Rochelle, it is difficult to comprehend the magnitude of how great a loss this is for all of us. She was known for her extreme kindness and fun loving perspective on life, love and generosity. At the drop of a hat, she would do anything she could to help her family, friends and even strangers. Her daughters, Stephanie, Shannon, Sami and Suzi, have lost an amazing mother and Jordan and Jackson have lost the most special grandmother. The love and dedication she had for them has set the bar as to how high we should strive to be as parents. Needless to say, she received these great qualities from her parents, Vernon and Odelia Doden of Monticello.
Rochelle was born on April 13, 1959, in Monticello, where she spent her childhood and graduated from high school. For the last 31 years, she made her home in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she worked as an interior designer for 18 years. She loved to spend her free time hiking with her dog Dakota, visiting with her daughters, motorcycle riding, running and many other outdoor adventures. Rochelle opened her home to visiting family often as she made it a favorite and welcoming destination.
Rochelle will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Stephanie (Stasi) Gertge of Boulder, Colo., Shannon Stasi (Lyle Keck) of Seattle, Wash., Samantha Stasi (Lee Bauknight) of Jackson, Wyo., and Suzanne Stasi of Fort Collins, Colo.; her two grandsons, Jordan and Jackson Gertge; her mother, Odelia (Knepper) Doden of Monticello; her siblings, Dianne (Todd) Hummel of Buena Vista, Colo., Marla Doden of Monticello, Cathy (Mike) Kirley of Woodbury, Minn., Greg (Cheryle) Doden of Pittsburg, Calif., Sharon (Robert) Caldwell of Cedar Rapids, Patrice (Johnny) Cook of Dubuque, Lynette (John) Fisher of Ellsworth, Lisa Steiner of Monticello, Kim (Joel) Salow of Center Point and Mike (Becki) Doden of Bend, Ore.; her sweetheart, Don Vsetecka of Green Mountain Falls, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved and tried to claim as her own.
Rochelle was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Doden; her sister, Debbie Berkebile; her great-niece, Rylee Gray; and her grandparents.
Rochelle will be laid to rest in her "forever home" of Monticello. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday July 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life service is pending in Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Rochelle's name.
