Roby, Clark Walter

Clark Walter Roby, 65, of Central City, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Christ Church Presbyterian, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, Iowa.

 Survivors include his wife, Jan; a son, James (Krissy) Roby; two grandchildren, Jakob and Emma; a sister, Carol Ann (Dave) Solum; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Lavon Hyberger; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 Clark was born Jan. 16, 1944, the son of Alvin “Peck” and Dorothy (Thomson) Roby, in Des Moines, Iowa. He married Jan Hyberger on June 5, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. Clark attended Christ Church Presbyterian in Cedar Rapids. He had a lifelong passion for cars. Clark deeply loved his grandchildren and family. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

 In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Clark's memory.
