Robinson, William L.

William L. Robinson, 73, of Iowa City, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The William Robinson Memorial Fund or to Mercy Hospice Unit of Mercy Iowa City.

Bill was born to Dessel Frost-Robinson and James Robinson on June 28, 1940, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He attended Maquoketa High School and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1963 as a business major. He served in the United States Navy. He retired in 1996 after working 28 years as director of Human Resources at Oral B.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Robinson; four daughters, Kathy (Chris) Donohoe of Winterset, Lisa (Brandon) Bourgeous of Fairfax, Jenny (Brad) Nace of Coralville and Shelley (Tim) Asher of Iowa City; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Donna Bollinger of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jim and Richard Robinson.
