Robertson, R. Neal 'Buck'

R. Neal “Buck” Robertson, 85, of Martelle, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at home, with family by his side.

Buck was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Martelle, the son of Francis and Myrtle (Hickman) Robertson. He went to Martelle schools for most his education and graduated from Springville High in 1945. He began farming with his father near Paralta after graduation. Buck and Nancy Lee Davenport were united in marriage in April 1947. Buck worked for over 20 years at the Martelle Farmers Cooperative until his retirement at which time he continued a lifelong career in farming.

Buck was a member of St. Marks' Episcopal Church in Anamosa.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Nancy; his children, Rebecca and husband Barry Perlmutter of Henderson, Nev., Mark Robertson and wife Jackie of Anamosa, and Matthew Robertson and wife Barbara of East Hartford, Conn.; grandchildren, Matt, Marcus, Clayton and Renee; and four great-grandchildren.

Family services will be held at a future date.
