Robertson, Joan K.
Memorial services for Joan K. Robertson, 70, of West Branch, who passed away at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, will be held at 11 a.m. March 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton, with Father David Hitch officiating. Family will receive friends before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, with the rosary being said at 10 a.m. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at the church hall following the memorial service.

Joan K. Slater Robertson, daughter of Charles and Kathryn Bonderer Slater, was born July 16, 1939, in Chillicothe, Mo. She was united in marriage to Tim Robertson on Aug. 18, 1959, in Chillicothe. Joan and Tim raised their four children in the Iowa City area. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. Joan was a Master Gardener who enjoyed spending time gardening and landscaping on their West Branch family farm. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Joan was a woman of great strength, grace, bravery, kindness and beauty that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joan is loved and survived by her husband, Tim Robertson of West Branch, Iowa; daughters, Kelly (Scott) Robertson-Yoder of St. Charles, Ill., and Jana (Scott) Zimmerman of Fairhope, Ala.; sons, Doug (Lisa) Robertson of Iowa City, Iowa, and Michael Robertson of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Molly Yoder, Hannah Yoder, Jack Zimmerman, Nick Zimmerman, Katie Zimmerman and Luke Robertson; and brother, Fred (Amy) Slater and family of Miami, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to Lymphoma Research Fund or the Colon Cancer Research Fund through Holden Cancer Center at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in memory of Joan.
