Roberta W. Cook, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at her home. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Roberta is survived by her ex-husband, Anthony Sr; two daughters, Jessica Jeffress and Kelly Cook, both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Anthony (Shawnia) Cook Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, Makayla Jeffress, Raquis Robinson and Quincy Cook, all of Cedar Rapids, and Taj Marie Cook and Anthony Cook III, both of Omaha; and her parents, A.C. Washington of New Orleans, La., and Lula Whatley of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Washington; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Roberta was born on Sept. 26, 1957, in Rosedale, Miss., the daughter of A.C. and Lula Campbell Washington and graduated from Martin Luther King High School. She married Anthony Cook on Dec. 7, 1986, in Sioux Falls, S.D. They later divorced but remained good friends. Roberta retired in 2010 as an inspector at Rockwell Collins where she had worked for 14 years.
Roberta was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
