Robert W. Lind, 86, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Lisbon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at ProMedica Care Center. Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Lisbon United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Lisbon Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Davenport, the son of Robert J. and Marian K. (Hobbs) Lind. He graduated from Lisbon High School, Class of 1955; following he served in the United States Navy as a Petty officer, 3rd class from 1955-1959. Robert was
united in marriage to Kay D. Jilovec on June 6, 1959, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church. He worked for over 20 years as a manager of the NAPA Auto Parts. He was an over-the-road trucker for many years. “Bus Driver Bob” drove school bus for the Lisbon and Mt. Vernon Community Schools for over 18 years. He enjoyed model trains, biking, golfing, studying World War II history, and was proud of his Scottish heritage, but most of all spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife Kay; children Bradley (Sharee) Lind, Scott (Rachael) Lind, Mark (Dani) Lind and Chad (Chris Wright) Lind; nine grandchildren Cory, Kelsee, Skylar (Michelle), Hunter, Tyler, Alyssa, Griffin, Zachary and Trevor; great-grandchild Milo; his sister Cynthia (William) Gravatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
