Robert W. Easterly, 71, of Anamosa, died Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The Rev. Rodney Bluml will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa, where military honors will be accorded.

Robert William Easterly was born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert and Irene (House) Easterly. He attended and graduated from Olin High School. Bob worked for Glen Brown Farms and later went to work at Fruehauf Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids. He later worked at Harnesfeger and later at Orbis in Monticello, Iowa, retiring in 2010. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for two years in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. On April 26, 1969, he married Dianna Lynn Taylor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. He received an honorable discharge from the military in 1972.
He was a strong, hardworking, loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and gardening.
He is remembered by his wife of 49 years, Dianna; his daughters, Shelly Lynn (Josh Luchtenburg) Easterly and Kari Ann (Alan) Melville, all of Anamosa; grandchildren Taylor, Preston, Breanna, Landin and Faith; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
