ROBERT STRAUCH
Hiawatha
Robert L. Strauch, 57, of Hiawatha, died at his home Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, after a sudden illness. A visitation will be at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; three daughters, Alison (Travis) Mollenhauer and Stephanie and Lauren Strauch, all of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Dolores (Al) Opatz of Lisbon; and two brothers, Steve Strauch of Mechanicsville and Bill (Sandy) Lighthall of Lisbon. He also is survived by four grandchildren, Riley, Brooklyn, Ava and Kora; and his six dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Bob was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Mount Vernon, the son of Eugene and Dolores Mead Strauch. He married Cynthia J. Kottman on Sept. 15, 1979, in Mount Vernon.
Bob was a computer technician at CRST for over five years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, working on computers, listening to classic rock and especially the time spent with his many friends and beloved family.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
