Robert J. Stallman Jr., 48, of Amana, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, after living with kidney disease for 32 years. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial: St. Patrick Cemetery, Fairfax. A vigil service will be 6 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, where friends may visit from 2 to 6 p.m., and again Monday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Rob is survived by five siblings, Juanita (Dave) Kohoutek of Solon, Regis (Fran) Stallman of Norway, Randy (Nikki) Stallman of Walford, Raphael (Laura) Stallman of Amana and Monica (Kenneth) Patten of Fairfax; nieces and nephews, Jenna and Megan Kohoutek, Jana (Evan) Olson, Jillian Stallman, Andrew, Ryan, Adam, Danielle, and Nathan Stallman, Amanda and Sarah Stallman, Brycen Meyer and Tyler and Hannah Patten.
His parents and sister, Roberta Stallman, preceded Rob in death.
Robert was born Nov. 18, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert J. Sr. and Josephine (McNamara) Stallman. He graduated from Norway High School and Kirkwood Community College. Rob worked in farming and agriculture throughout his life.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 11492 and a 4th Degree member of Monsignor Sampson Assembly 3179 in Cedar Rapids.
Rob enjoyed hunting, farming and working on machinery. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Rob was known for his generosity and helpfulness to his family and others. Despite his health condition, he continued to work full time throughout his life.
