Surviving are three children, Peggy Kuba, Cedar Rapids, Carol Meeks, Sycamore, Ill., and Nancy (Jeff) Alderdyce, Morley; seven grandchildren, Sherry Kuba, Melissa Hawkins, Joe and Dan Meeks, Jordan, Jared and Alex Alderdyce; and five great-grandchildren, Ty, Lucy, Vaughn, Anna and Izzy. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Donald and Charles; and three sisters, Ardis Seeger, Janet Putman and Eloise Whipple. Robert Henry Seeger was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Charles and Grace Grassfield Seeger. Charles attended Morley Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1946. He was employed at Iowa Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids for over 50 years as a welder. Bob also farmed the family farm near Morley. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. When he worked at Iowa Manufacturing, Howard Hall brought him to the Brucemore Estate, where he constructed and welded the cage for the lion kept by the Hall family. Bob married M. Lucille Daub Yarrington on Oct. 7, 1960, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. She preceded him in death in October 2000. In retirement, Bob's farm and his grandchildren were his passion, along with the Cubs. He rode his bicycle two miles every day until last year. He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, and going for a drive around the countryside. Bob's family would like to thank Dr. Langager and staff, the St. Luke's 4 West staff and Dr. Bell and the staff of the hospice unit for keeping Bob and them comfortable and informed during his hospital stay.
