Robert “Scott” Wyatt
Cedar Rapids
Robert “Scott” Wyatt, 74, passed away on May 6, 2025, at his residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 27 at Jones Park Lodge from 4–10 p.m.
Scott was born on September 23, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated magna cum laude from Mount Mercy University and went on to pursue a graduate degree at UNI.
He lived a full life and had many passions, including drum corps, motorcycles, playing the drums, staying fit, and gathering with his family. Scott was a devoted brother and uncle who found deep joy in mentoring, helping, and spending time with those he loved.
He was a gifted soul with a poet’s heart—a deep thinker and often misunderstood. Scott made friends wherever he went and gave generously of himself. Those of us who knew him were blessed to witness his uniqueness and zest for life. He will be missed more than words can ever express.
Through his retirement years, Scott gave his heart to the Cedar Rapids Kernels and loved working his Party Plaza.
Scott is survived by his son Jacob (Annette), his daughter Suede, and grandchildren Nicole, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Chase. He is also survived by his brothers Pete, Tom (Denise), and Matt (Cathy); his sisters Kim and Barb; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
He is now reunited in heaven with his sister Robin, his parents, and his brother Jeff.
Scott leaves behind an exceptional legacy of love, creativity, and connection. His impact will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
