Bob was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Dyersville, the son of Cletus and Melinda (Meyers) Reittinger. Due to the untimely death of his parents, he was raised by Paul and Mary Kremer in Dyersville. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer USS Sierra as a lithographer during the Korean War. When he returned, he married Joyce Wessels on Sept. 1, 1962, and together they raised their family until they divorced. She survives. He married Donna Strong on Feb. 2, 1991, in Dyersville. Bob was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan all of his life. He was very proud of his grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He especially enjoyed watching them in their activities.
Survivors include his children, Vicki Palmer of Dyersville, Scott (Michelle) Reittinger of Cedar Rapids and Lori Grisham of Adrian, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Snedden and their daughter, Taytem, Abby and Ben Palmer, Cooper, Cami, Carli and Catie Reittinger, and Danielle, Rachel and Dylan Grisham; siblings, Dave Reittinger of Dyersville, Margaret Vonderhaar of Holy Cross and Judy Mueller of Dubuque; and a special friend, Joanne Chambers of Charles City.
