Robert R. Jared, 85, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital. A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with burial following the service.
Robert was born April 24, 1937, to Archie and Alice Jared in Clinton, Iowa. After he completed high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He married Joyce Reed on Aug. 28, 1985, in Decatur, Ind. Robert worked as a mail carrier and gave over 30 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service.
Robert is survived by his sons, Michael Jared of Marion, Iowa, and Scott (Amy) Jared of Marion, Iowa. He also is survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 30 years, and his sister, Beverly Strader.
