Robert "Papa" David Snyder, 79, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Kate (Greg) Bergman, Donna Jo "DJ" (Krista) Hayes, Elizabeth "Beth" Snyder and Makayla Snyder; grandchildren, Kyle Kaness, Madison Belding and Ryan BeAndrews; and many nieces and nephews.
Papa was born March 2, 1942, the son of Howard and Mabel (Driscoll) Snyder in Los Angeles, Calif. On Nov. 23, 1967, he married Madonna "Donna" Schmidt, in Cascade, Iowa. He worked for many years as a cab driver for Century Cab, and also as an insurance agent and car sales. Papa's three favorite things were cars, politics and cooking, especially grilling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; and brother, Jerry Snyder.
