Robert Lewis "Bob" Huber, 73, of Coralville, passed away from metastatic lung cancer on Aug. 1, 2017, at home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bob Huber Memorial Fund, c/o Hills Bank and Trust.
Bob was born on Nov. 9, 1943, in Placerville, Calif., to Lewis O. and Gloria J. (Davis) Coggeshall. He was adopted at seven months by Marion V. and Avis V. (Coggeshall) Huber. He married Diane Gardner June 27, 1992.
Bob grew up mostly in Muscatine, Iowa, graduating from the high school there, and later from St. Ambrose University in Davenport. He spent a number of years as a news reporter in both broadcast and print media, including work in Muscatine and Davenport, Iowa, Lima, Ohio, and Rock Island, Ill. He later moved into the field of human resources management, working in positions at the city of Davenport, Eastern Iowa Community College, the Iowa Board of Regents, the University of Iowa and Heinz Quality Chef Foods.
Bob is survived by his wife, Diane Huber of Coralville; son, Christopher Huber of Coralville; daughters, Beth Nau of Bettendorf and Travonne (Kirk) Danielson of Muscatine; stepson, Bradley (Nonalee) Gardner of Coralville, and stepdaughter, Lisa (John) Witte of Norfolk, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Kory, Ryan (Barb) and Sean Danielson, Brandon (Sarah), Danielle, Creighton and Chloe Nau, Kathryn and A.J. Gardner and Logan and Olivia Witte; and great-grandchildren, Xander Sullivan (Nau), Arronington Sullivan (Nau), Genevieve Danielson, Cain Danielson and one expectant baby Nau.
He also is survived by brothers, Donald (Veronica) Huber, Michael (Casey) Swan and Lewis (Donna) Coggeshall; and sisters, Marilyn (Dan) Barrett, Carolyn (Gene) Johnson, Carmen (A.J.) Samaniego, Linda (Gautem) Roy, Alice McCoy, Linda Webb and Norma Barton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Millicent Aldridge; and a grandson, Cameron Nau.
