Robert P. Levi, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at his home. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice; a son, Steven (Carla) of Cedar Rapids; and a daughter, Sandi (Mike) McDonough of Marion. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Chris, Dan and Scott Levi, Ben and Curt Schamberger, Julie Stimart, Jen Heckroth, Stefanie Bender, Matt McDonough, Kellie McDonough and Meghan Mauro; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a great-grandchild, Beau Bender.
Bob was born on Nov. 25, 1928, in Gravity, Iowa, the son of Albert and Pauline Morgan Levi. Bob married Mary Alice Rundall on Jan. 31, 1948, in Cedar Rapids.
Bob was the assistant manager at Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric for over 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the El Kahir Shrine and past president of its Color Guard, the Jesters, Elks Lodge, the Cedar Rapids Home Builders Association, the EX Club, the Jaycees and the Camelot Club.
Bob enjoyed playing poker, golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, hunting, fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and his many many friends. Bob's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the El Kahir Transportation Fund or to the local Shrine Building Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 38, Hiawatha, IA 52233.
