Robert Lasack, 67, of Honolulu, formerly of Olin, died Aug. 21, 2016, in his home. He was born June 7, 1949, the son of Joyce and Joe Lasack.
Robert graduated from Olin High School. He attended Drake University and the University of Northern Iowa before entering the U.S. Marine Corps. Following that he obtained a master's degree from Long Beach State University in California and worked in a juvenile detention center for several years. Then he became an immigration officer for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (later named Homeland Security), serving for 27 years. He received several certificates of merit at a party held in his honor.
Surviving are his wife, Elma; his mother, Joyce of Olin; brothers, Joe of Des Moines, Donald of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jon of Olin; and his children, Kimberly of Pawtucket, R.I., and Jeffery of Honolulu.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Joe, and brother, David.
Bob touched many lives and will be remembered for his academic achievements, his service to his country, and also for being a loving son, husband and brother.
