Robert "Bob" C. Jensen died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Camp Courageous, Iowa City Hospice or Hospice Compassus.
Bob was born July 8, 1927, the son of Wiggo and Dorothy Petersen Tofting Jensen. He married Betty Schintler on Aug. 26, 1950, in Iowa City.
He was a longtime Johnson County farmer and also had done construction.
Bob loved the outdoors, especially time spent camping, fishing and hunting deer and turkey. Bob was a member of the Wild Turkey Foundation, the rock club and a 4-H leader for over 40 years. Bob enjoyed taking photos at the 4-H Fair. He taught kids gun and hunting safety.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Betty; their three children, Jerald Jensen of Iowa City, Julie (Duane) Brun of Lone Tree and Randy (Eleni) Jensen of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Cassandra (Mike), Heather, Matthew (Stephanie), Alex and Austin; his stepgrandson, Theodore (Dimitra); great-grandchildren, Aidan and Norah; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Adam, Gus and Christo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas; and his sisters, Lillian Meince, Helen Jensen and Kathleen Cross.
