Robert George Janney, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 6, 2016. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Robert was born Jan. 20, 1935, son of Margurite (Moore) and Loring Janney in Muscatine. On Dec. 31, 1970, he was married to Karen Gueller. Robert served in the U.S. Navy. He was a faith-filled man and lifetime Episcopalian. Family was everything to him.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Kyle (Misty) Janney; daughter, Ann Marie (Marc) Kirkland; four grandchildren, Ashton, Benjamin, Mathias and Kaylee; sister-in-law, Pauline Janney; cousin, Kerry Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
