Robert Francis Heffernen, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at the Newman Center. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Oaknoll Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
Bob was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Dubuque, son of Herman and Ida May Heffernen. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. He moved to Iowa City in 1976.
Bob was a resident of Oaknoll Retirement Residence.
Bob his survived by his brother, John (Gertrude) of Lompoc, Calif.
