Robert "Bob" Hanneman, 87, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at the Vinton Lutheran Home following
an extended illness. Visi-tation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., in Vinton. Committal services and graveside military rites conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post 57 of Vinton will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, with the Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.
A memorial fund has been established.
Robert Carl Hanneman, known to family and friends as Bob, was born Aug. 1, 1927, near Van Horne to Harry J. and Helen (Schult) Hanneman. He served his nation in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post 57 of Vinton. On Feb. 6, 1949, he was united in marriage to Nadine Steward in Vinton.
Bob farmed all of his life until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine of Vinton; his daughter, Peggy (Ivan) Craig of Red Oak; his grandchildren, Lea, Gabe and Josh Craig; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Ted and Scott "Huggy" Hanneman; and his sisters, Glenys Kirk and Arlene Eckhart.
