Robert "Larry" Foster, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Lady of Peace Hospice House in
St. Paul, Minn. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by Deacon Phil Saunders. Burial: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Ebony Foster; his children, Laura Maharry of Des Moines, Paul Foster of Cedar Rapids and Essence Jones of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Dennis Foster of Bellingham, Wash.; a sister, Martha Caristi of Valparaiso, Ind.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was born March 25, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Robert and Mary (Byrne) Foster. He married Ebony Jones on March 13, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nev. Robert was employed with FMC as a machinist. He also worked for Goss in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Regis Catholic High School. Robert enjoyed woodworking, collecting automobiles, with his favorite being Jaguars, and collecting coins.
Robert also was a handy man – he could fix anything, and was operator of an ice cream shop in Cedar Rapids. He also owned Essence Boutique.
