ROBERT "BOB" L. FITZSIMMONS

Robert "Bob" L. Fitzsimmons, 56, of Shellsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Visitation:
3 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 10, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a service following the visitation at
6 p.m.
Survivors include his spouse, Shawn; stepchildren, Richard (fiancee, Bre) and Erica Engbretson; siblings, Cheri (Ken) Brown, Diana (Jimmy) Armbruster, Shelly Christopherson and Kevin Fitzsimmons; aunt, Florence Austell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Adam; and aunt, Dolores.
Bob was born March 7, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Ardean and Edna (Swick) Fitzsimmons. On June 23, 2011, Bob and Shawn (Toyne-Engbretson) were united in marriage in Cedar Rapids. Bob owned and operated Tile Guys for 25 years. He enjoyed rebuilding cars and worked on a pit crew at Hawkeye Downs. Bob also enjoyed boating on his pontoon boat and being with the dog of his life, Zoey.
