Robert Dolezal, 94, of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024. Private services will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in honor of Robert’s wishes. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Libbie, his sons, Dan (Val) Dolezal and David (Heidi) Dolezal of Marion, seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Ben) Potts, Katie (Adam) Glunt, Mackenzie (Grant) Degen, Catherine (Wes) Dolezal, Greyson and fiancée (Anna) Dolezal, Dylan Dolezal and Jessi Dolezal. He was blessed with seven great-grandchildren.
Robert was born on April 17, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Rueben and Lillian (Rosicka) Dolezal. He married Libbie Petrzelka on July 28, 1951, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Robert served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked 32 years at IBM in Cedar Rapids. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
