Robert "Bob" Dale Daubenmier, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Ridgeview Assisted Living Center, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Steven Daubenmier of Waukesha, Wis.; and daughters, Vicki (Steve) Archibald of Cedar Rapids and Debbie (Larry) Ingels of Loveland, Colo.; grandchildren, Heather (John) Mickol of Merton, Wis., Alison (Ryan) Hunter of Woodbury, Minn., Stacy (Brad) Bailey of Clayton, N.C., Carrie (Mark) Thrasher of Ballwin, Mo., Rob (Chelsea) Archibald of Hiawatha, Kacie Ingels of Loveland, Colo., Adam Ingels of Denver, Colo., and Kara (Zach) Billings of The Dalles, Ore.; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Daubenmier.
Bob was born March 11, 1927, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, the son of Earl and Nellie (Newton) Daubenmier. He graduated from Marion High School and married Betty Ilene Knapp on Oct. 18, 1946. He was vice president of Nordstrom Oil Company. Bob was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, NICT, the Mizpah Lodge and a 24-year member of the El Kahir Shrine Color Guard. He and Betty traveled in their motorhome, enjoying many winters as snowbirds. He was an avid follower of the Iowa Hawkeyes and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy in Bob's memory.
