Robert J. "Pete" Chute passed away April 5, 2016, in Naples, Fla.
Pete was born to Thomas and Nora (Kelly) Chute on May 20, 1926, in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic School in 1944.
He was employed for 50 years by Crescent Electric Supply Co., managing its branches in Des Moines, Ottumwa and Cedar Rapids.
Pete was a member of The Glades Country Club in Naples and previously a member of Indian Creek Country Club in Marion. He also was a member St.
Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion.
On June 3, 1947, Pete married Mary Jean Carlson, his loving wife, who survives him. He also is survived by three daughters, Marcia (Jim) Hanson of Marshalltown, Mindy (Rick) Jost of Des Moines and Michelle (Steve) Thornburg of Bettendorf; and four sons, Michael (Sara, Courtney) of Riverview, Fla., Mark (Sheryl) of Chelsea, Martin (Awilda) and Matthew (Tracie), both of Marion; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, four sisters, a daughter, Mary Ann, a son, Merle Franklin, and a grandson, Ryan Michael.
