Robert D. Carlton, 68, of Waukon, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, in Rochester, Minn.
Robert was born in Sac City, Iowa, on Jan. 4, 1947, to parents Darwin and Loraine Carlton. He was active in sports, band and Boy Scouts. Robert received training to become an official court reporter and worked in the state courts of Iowa, Nebraska and Washington.
He married Karen Vandagriff on Sept. 1, 1973, in Rockwell City, Iowa. They lived in Omaha, Neb., Bellevue, Wash., and Guttenberg before settling in Waukon.
Robert's biggest joy in life were his grand-children.
Robert always enjoyed getting to know people and was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Left to honor his memory are his wife, Karen; sons, Andy (Heidi) Carlton of The Colony, Texas, and Matthew (Christina) Carlton of New Hampton; grandchildren, Ben, Henry, Genevieve, Grace and William; six siblings, Sherry (Terry) Evans, Butch (Judy) Carlton, Scott Carlton, Margo (Larry) Leveranz, Doug (Judy) Carlton and Penny (Jeff) Schrader; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was beloved by his family and will be greatly missed by all.
