Robert Brian Greene, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on April 21, 2024, at Cottage Grove, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 9:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, at the church. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa at a later date.
Bob was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on November 11, 1946, the son of Willis and Georgia (Yeaton) Greene. He grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, graduated from Cedar Falls High School, honorably served in the Navy, and graduated from Upper Iowa University. Bob married Madonna Murphy on June 11, 1971, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Together they raised their three sons in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Bob was a purchasing agent for Vector Corp., Rockwell Goss, and Universal Engineering.
Bob enjoyed music all his life. He loved driving his old Corvette for almost fifty years. Large family gatherings were a favorite.
Robert is survived by his wife, sons, Jack Greene of Davenport, Iowa, Joe (Aimee) Greene of Marshalltown, Iowa, and James Greene of Jacksonville, Florida; grandsons, Ben, Elias, Dale, Deo, and Declan; sisters, Janice Greene (Laurie Glauth) of Woodland Park, Colorado, and April Greene (Arthur Meacham) of Brooklyn, New York; brothers- & sisters-in-law, Kay Kalsem, Pat (Norb) Pietan, Sharon Murphy, Roberta (Tom Keen) Jack (Jody) Murphy, Becky Davis, Ken (Chris) Murphy, and Denese (Bruce) Wilson; twenty-one nieces and nephews; and dozens of great-nieces and
-nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, mother- and father-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Gary Murphy and Homer Kalsem.
