Robert "Speedway Bob" Earl Bowser, 59, of Harmony, N.C., passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bob was the owner of Speedway Chassis and Speedway Bob Enterprises. Bob loved racing and was very competitive, along with his mom and dad at their old hometown dirt track. Bob also was a dirt track champion IMCA modified and won three Daytona Championship rings.
He loved being outdoors, enjoyed listening to Elvis and watching all sports, especially the Arizona Cardinals. Most of all, he adored his canines, Bud and Dolly. He attended Cove Church in Mooresville, N.C.
In addition to his parents, Judyth Ann and Walter Wesley Hickey and Gary and Kay Bowser, Bob is survived by his wife, Jennifer Deanne Bowser; sons, Jason Bowser (Rhonda) of Iowa, Josh Bowser (Liz) of North Carolina and Nick Bowser of Arizona; sisters, Krista Ryan of Iowa, Mikeala Hain (Rodney) of Iowa and Angala Lawson (Jay) of North Carolina; brother, Chad Bowser of Arizona; grandchildren, Izabella Page Bowser and Sierra Adams; and nieces and nephews, Jeremy Hain, Brittani Dease (Jason), Justin Hain, Jacob Hain and Amber Steggall.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Kathryn Snow, Clarence and Millie Bowser, and Evelyn Kleppe.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, N.C. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Daryl Barker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.
