Robert "Bob" Ulrick Prostine, 91, passed away at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa, on Saturday, July 31, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
A public visitation will be held from
10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Troy Weigert officiating. Interment with military honors to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Tranquility.
Bob was born on June 7, 1930, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was the son of the late Laurence and Anna (Ulrick) Prostine. Bob was a graduate of New Hartford High School and also Iowa State University with a degree in electrical engineering. After working in several states, Bob returned to Iowa to work at Rockwell Collins from 1979 until his retirement in 1994. On Nov. 17, 1951, he married the love of his life, Loretta Mae Reeve. Bob was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Blair Ridge Baptist Church and a proud member of the Cyclone Club.
Those left to cherish Robert's memory are his children, Don (Mary) Prostine of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Dave (Michele) Prostine of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ben (Dana Scheffen) Prostine, Emma Prostine and Lee Prostine; his sibling, Herk (Loris) Prostine of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Bev Prostine; his parents; and his siblings, Ken Prostine and Susie Holst.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Mercy Hospital, Terrace Glen and the Oldorf Hospice House for all the love and support they showed Robert while he was in their care.
