Robert Edward "Bob" Kray, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at UnityPoint Living Center West. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Czech National Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born July 20, 1928, in Marion, the son of Jacob and Maxine (Drapula) Kray. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert was united in marriage to Verna Musel on Aug. 8, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for over 47 years as a foreman in the bottling operation with Pepsi, retiring in 1965. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, traveling, visiting an occasional casino and, most of all, the time spent with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Verna; two children, Susan (Randy) Lampman of Marion and Steven (Peggy) Kray of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
