Robert "Bob" Kitterman
Jr., 76, of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at The University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City. Private family services will be held. A public memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A livestream of the memorial service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Bob, under "photos and videos or media," starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17.
Bob was born Aug. 29, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert Sr. and Gladys (Gnade) Kitterman. On Dec. 26, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Marilyn Novotny in Cedar Rapids. He worked at AT&T and then CRST as a sales account executive until his retirement in 2009. Bob was a dedicated fan of the Hawkeyes and the Cubs. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. He had a great group of friends that he loved to play softball with for over 30 years. Bob will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man, who truly loved his wife and three sons. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Kitterman of Cedar Rapids; sons, Rob (Michelle) Kitterman III of Johnston, Iowa, Chris (Alice) Kitterman of Cedar Rapids and Kevin (Tanya) Kitterman of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, David Yancey, Sam, Payton, Alex, Kate, Makayla and Quin Kitterman; sister, Jan Karr of Cedar Rapids; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Wayne Karr; niece, Kari Person; and nephew, Jeff Biddinger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
