Robert "Bob" Lee Fahrenkrog, 65, died June 15, 2021, at his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Born April 6, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Donald and Jocelyn (Bickel) Fahrenkrog, Bob was the eldest of two children. He fondly recalled spending time with his grandmother Doris Allen Bickel talking about current events until the late hours in the evening.
Bob attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He established many lifelong friendships and was an anchor in the Cedar Rapids community. Bob was an avid fan of cars and could tell you any make and model while driving down the road with his family. Bob had a terrific sense of humor and was well liked by everyone he came in contact with. Bob enjoyed his work at Mount Mercy University for over three decades in Cedar Rapids.
Bob is survived by his mother, Jocelyn Bickel of Pueblo West, Colo.; sister, Ginna Fahrenkrog, and sister-in-law, Bev Schwartz of Pueblo West, Colo.; and aunt, Judy Hartman of Oshkosh, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; grandparents, Robert and Doris (Allen) Bickel, Monroe and Mary (Gerratt) Fahrenkrog; and uncle, Alan Bickel.
The family will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
