Robert “Bob” Elias, 72, of Anamosa, died, peacefully, Sunday evening, Oct. 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in the Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa. Pastor Wade Reddy will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left at www. He is survived by his family Karen Wheeler, her boys, Chad (Audrey) Wheeler, Tim (Wendy) Wheeler, Scott (Annette) Wheeler, grandkids, Zack, K.D. (David), Colton, Lexi, Payton, Tyson, Easton, Miken and Wes, great-grandkids, Harper, Brynn, Keegan, Aidan and Cooper, his brother, Richard, sister-in-law, Rhonda, several nieces, a nephew and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Tom.
Robert Lee Elias was born Feb. 3, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Lester and Albia Rohach Elias. Bob attended Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1969. He continued his education at Kirkwood College. Bob started working for Wilson Foods/ Farmstead Foods as a hog buyer for 20 years. He then went to work at Quality Chef/ Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids for 30 years in the shipping and receiving department until he retired in 2021.
Bob enjoyed going to his grandkids’ sporting events, fishing on the Wapsi River, golfing, playing cards with friends, gardening, casinos, auctions and collecting and giving lottery tickets at Christmas.
The family would like to thank Above and Beyond Hospice, the staff at Jones Regional Medical Center, and Advantage Home Medical for all their support.
