Robert "Bob" B. Brown, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A visitation
will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A funeral service
will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 350 27th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Charles Layton officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Bob was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Mildred (Green) Brown. He graduated from Waterloo West High School, Class of 1955. Bob was a bookkeeper. He worked with several renowned family-owned companies in the area, including E. Cohn & Sons, Kinze Manufacturing and National Propane. Instead of retiring, Bob began working part-time for Ginsberg Jewelers, he worked there for over 20 years. Bob was a trusted keeper of the books.
On July 10, 1959, he married the love of his life, Karmaline "Kay" Santage, they were married for 50 years. Bob and Karmaline raised a happy family. They enjoyed their dog, Brandy. The couple went to see Major League Baseball games and watched sports on TV. They are now reunited in Heaven.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Doug) Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., and Julie (Chris) Shaffer of Cedar Rapids; son, Michael (Wendy) Brown of Pomeroy, Iowa; and grandchildren, Bryan and Aaron Smith of Phoenix, Jacob, Jasmine and Jeremy Shaffer of Cedar Rapids, and Caroline Brown of Iowa City.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Karmaline "Kay"; and parents, Bernard and Mildred Brown.
