Robert "Bubba" Blankenburg, 57, of Marion, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Faith Lutheran Church, by Pastor John Albertson. Friends may gather with the family after the funeral at Naso's Restaurant in Marion from noon to 3 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; and his parents, Arley and Darlene Blankenburg.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven.
Bob was born in Highland Park, Ill., on Aug. 26, 1956, the son of Arley and Darlene (Ross) Blanken-burg. In 1974, he graduated from Linn-Mar High School, where he played football and basketball. He then attended Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa.
He was employed at Cryovac for 32 years. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion, where he married Kathleen Buehrig on April 17, 2013.
Bob enjoyed golf and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.
In lieu of flowers, me-morials may be directed to Bob's family in his memory.
