ROBERT JAMES BLACKFORD JR.

Robert James Blackford Jr., of Hendersonville, N.C., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at home with his family after a long illness on Dec. 10, 2015. Services will be planned for later in the spring.
Robert, born May 24, 1953, lived most of his life in the Cedar Rapids area. He was self-employed. His passions in life were drag racing and trapping.
He is survived by three children, Shane, Heidi and Cody; six grandchildren; his life partner, Sarah Marie Blackford; a brother, David Blackford; two sisters, Marilyn Blackford and Carolyn Coleman (Rick); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Robert James Blackford Sr.; and sister, Susan Servin (Blackford).
Robert will be greatly missed, loved and never forgotten.
