Robert "Bob" Bell, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. A private family inurnment with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Bob was born Jan. 27, 1933, to Willard and Dorothy Bell in Washington County, Iowa. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was united in marriage to Joanne Richardson on Oct. 1, 1960, in Washington, Iowa. Bob was employed at Russell's Guides Inc. and retired after 38 years of service.
Bob was a devoted husband who was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. His biggest joy was spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Chris (Kathy) Bell of Ely and Tim Bell of Solon; six grandchildren, Neila and Blair Bell of Ely, Christian Davis of Vinton, Liam and Jack Bell of Solon and Spencer (Hailey) Davis of Fort Riley, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Julie Davis.
