Robert Beck, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Private family services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Robert was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Ray and Emma Beck. He went to Wilson High School. Robert was united in marriage to Janet Lee Smith on Oct. 15, 1952, in Lancaster, Mo. He retired from Cargill after 44 years of dedication. Robert was a handyman who loved to work on bikes. He enjoyed casino trips to Riverside and watching the Chicago Cubs. Robert was a NASCAR fan. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his friends and family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Janet Beck; children, Bob (Therese) Beck, Terry (Mary) Beck and Scott Beck; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
