Robert A. Grinnell, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday Aug. 5, 2017. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where a visitation begins at 10 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Richard Reed will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery is in charge of the arrangements.
Surviving are his siblings, Willie (Sarah) Clay of Nachez, Miss., and Clara (Riley) Swayze and Charles Grinnell, all of Cedar Rapids; and his nieces, nephews and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was born Feb. 20, 1963, in Nachez, Miss., the son of Sylvester and Ruby (Walton) Grinnell. Robert was a lineman for an offshore oil company. Robert attended Southeast Church of Christ and enjoyed his studies with Pastor Richard Reed. He also enjoyed playing videos with his great-nephews, Jarren, Devon and Chauncey. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
